Bihar already gets disproportionate central funds compared to its tax outlay. Also, there is an IIT, IIM and NIT in Bihar. It is the state universities which are good for nothing.

We depend on India for so many things, trade, health, tourism etc. and we need a good relationship with them because it benefits the rest of the community. There are things that are happening internally and externally as well regarding India but we don't have enough power to say anything except bow down. Look at all the loans we took from them, and the projects we haven't finished paying them off. The government is in no position to make a stance. Muizzu and any other leader knows this.

As far as I know, Yaante tried to diversify this so we don't depend on one county too much by diversifying the imports into eastern Asian countries, as well as trying to develop our own medical health care so that we don't have to depend elsewhere regarding it. But alas, that never came to fruition. 

Edit: just to add to it, a lot of Indians also see maldives as part of "greater India"
